After a long day of hiking or sight-seeing, it’s always nice to belly up to bar to enjoy a cold beer or a killer cocktail. To help you quench your thirst, we’ve put together the ultimate list of top bars in Antigua, Guatemala.

Tabacos y Vino

Find the arch and you’ve found this cozy little spot we love. Located under the Santa Catalina arch, an iconic landmark that is in the heart of the city, the tasting room is small but allows you to elbow up next to new friends. Drop in to sip on some vino, or try one of their various cheese boards. Here you’ll find the best wine selection in the city.

Café No Se

Don’t be confused by the name – you KNOW you want to go. Voted one of the best dive bars in the world by multiple publications, Cafe No Se is both one of the coolest and tiniest bars you’ll ever vist. Dim, candle lit, and always lively (with great music on the weekends) – this is the place to come to try the house brand Illegal Mezcal. Find this bar tucked away next to its bookstore on 1A Avenida Sur.

Monoloco

Head over to MonoLoco to catch your favorite sporting event, a football-sized plate of nachos, a drink (or four) with friends, or all three. The popular sports bar is always humming with a great mix of travelers and locals alike, good tunes, and delicious food…including huge salads, tasty burgers, and a wide selection of beers.

Antigua Brewing Company

We’re always impressed with the beer that’s brewing up at the Antigua Brewing Company. They have a lovely roof-top deck that overlooks Antigua, or chil inside for a more intimate bar setting. Our favorite beer here is the locally brewed Xute Pale Ale; but the Hunapuh White IPA is pretty solid too.

Cafe Sky

This place heats up at sunset, and allows you to gaze out over the Antigua Valley and the distant (and active) Fuego Volcano from their rooftop bar while sipping a mojito. Strike up a conversion with a neighbor while watching the sun dip below the colonial town of Antigua. As it says in the name, it’s all about the views.
